If the gun's serial number is before 855,000, the receiver must be modified at a cost of $180 before a new bbl. can be used. Add to that the cost of the bbl. and chokes. If made later than 855,000 it's just the cost of the bbl.

Don't rule out the 12 ga. Ithaca 37 for quail either. These guns abound in the used market with 28" Full Choke and Modified Barrels.
